As the new season fast approaches the club kindly request all coaches and parents take a few short minutes to watch the FAI guideline video on sideline behaviour:
Parents have a powerful influence on the level of fun and enjoyment which children derive from the game and on the degree of enthusiasm with which they participate in it.
Positive encouragement is the key to a children’s enjoyment of the game, their sense of personal achievement, the development of their skill levels and their self-esteem.
▪ Parents should avoid coaching their child during the game.
▪ Parents should not shout and scream.
▪ Parents should respect the decisions of the match officials.
▪ Parents should give attention to each participating child, and not just to the most talented.
▪ Parents should appreciate the opposition as well as their own team.
▪ Parents should be respectful towards all players whilst on the field of play, regardless of nationality, race, religion or other affiliations.
▪ Parents should show appreciation of the efforts of all players who are substituted.
